Dr. Richard Roessler

Richard T. Roessler, Ph.D., CRC, is a University Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources, and Communication Disorders at the University of Arkansas.  Dr. Roessler’s research interests include psychosocial adjustment to disability, vocational counseling interventions, transition, higher education and disability, and placement planning and job development strategies.  Dr. Roessler has authored or co-authored more than 150 journal articles, book chapters, and monographs, as well as four major textbooks that are widely used in graduate training programs.  In addition to co-authoring a career education curriculum for high school students with disabilities (Life Centered Career Education), Dr. Roessler is the co-developer of numerous vocational assessments, and he has published widely in the area of postsecondary education and disability.  He has successfully administered several funded projects related to the educational and career development needs of postsecondary students with disabilities.  Dr. Roessler won the 1996 Innovative Program Award from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, as well as Distinguished Career awards from the National Council on Rehabilitation Education and the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association.
